Breadcrumb With a Single Item
A BreadcrumbList in the JSON-LD has fewer than two items, so it describes no trail. In a QuikSEO audit, a failure of this rule has warning severity and counts against the score. Below are the exact condition, its exceptions and the sources behind it, followed by the other rules of the same group.

How This Rule Is Checked
The rule is a pure function of the fetched page: no extra requests, no account settings. The same input always gives the same result.

- Rule id
structured_data.breadcrumb_single_item- Group
- Structured Data
- Severity of a failure
- Warning
- Counts in the score
- Yes, whenever it applies to the page
- Required for a score
- No
Condition and Exceptions
- Condition
- A BreadcrumbList with fewer than two items → fail (warning since ADR 0005: Google requires at least two ListItems for the breadcrumb rich result)
- Exceptions
- No BreadcrumbList → not_applicable
Sources and Project Decision
- Sources
- Breadcrumb (BreadcrumbList) structured data (Google Search Central, Q06)
- Project decision
- Warning (ADR 0005, 2026-10-16): Google requires at least two ListItems, so a one-item trail is not eligible for the breadcrumb rich result; the same severity as a missing Google-required property (structured_data.required_properties). Checked at the top level, in @graph and in list items.
